Uproxx praises the debut album by Loose Wing

SONG POST

“Seattle has produced an unquantifiable amount of outstanding indie rock, and now Loose Wing are serving as an example that the area’s still got it. The Seattle group channels early R.E.M. vibes with the guitar sound on “Moving Blankets,” and they show off their versatility with some smartly incorporated strings on “Beverly.”

Loose Wing shares next single from debut album with The Big Takeover

PREMIERE

Big Takeover Magazine on "Moving Blankets" by Loose Wing: "Sweet guitar chime rings out from the start and is equaled by Tucker’s emotive vocals. Her stark, but vivid lyrics contrast against the bright sonics, low-end bass line, and punchy drum beat, while the song swells midway and to the end with a rise of symphonic strings."

The upcoming debut album by Loose Wing (March 22nd) reminds of early Kill Rock Stars and K Records releases. The Seattle-based foursome is comprised of local vets of the scene, led by Claire Tucker of Black Nite Crash. The first single is "Beverly," which Atwood Magazine describes as "'a ghostly elegant expression of sorrow, self-doubt, and searching."

Seattle's Loose Wing to release self-titled debut album March 22nd

NEWS

Loose Wing is a new Seattle-based band fronted by songwriter Claire Tucker. The four-piece group will issue its self-titled debut album on March 22nd, consisting of nine songs that fearlessly explore themes of anxiety, isolation, intimacy, and teen angst that has yet to be outgrown. Despite the weighty subject matter, Tucker’s tunes maintain an easy confidence throughout the album, with melodies that often remind of a Neko Case or PJ Harvey-fronted R.E.M., which despite that band’s origins in the furthest continental corner (Athens, GA) from the home of grunge, has always maintained a spiritual tie to Seattle. Other contemporary influences on Loose Wing include Kate Bush and Guided by Voices.
