The March Divide, about to head out on tour, premieres "I Wanna Hate You" on New Noise

TRACK PREMIERE

Hola! Jared Putnam is about to head out on a month of The March Divide tour dates (including a bunch with Slow Start Records labelmates BLUNDERBUSST.)

To kick it off, another single from the new album ๐˜“๐˜ฐ๐˜ด๐˜ต ๐˜Š๐˜ข๐˜ถ๐˜ด๐˜ฆ๐˜ด drops this Friday. You can head over to New Noise Magazine right now to hear opening cut "I Wanna Hate You." Putting it mildly, damn!

The genius of composer Paul Slavens shines from "Naomi" to "Zelda" on brilliant "Alphabet Girls, Vol. II," out June 24.

NEWS

Alphabet Girls, Vol. II by Paul Slavens (June 24, State Fair Records) is the crystallization and distillation of the Nebraska born, Denton, TX-based artistโ€™s long, varied, and accomplished career, complete with all of the requisite breakthroughs and disappointments.

On record, Slavensโ€™s endurance is a listenerโ€™s treat. Alphabet Girls, Vol. II plays like the product of a โ€œbeen everywhere, seen everythingโ€ guru-type somehow fitting all of his experience and education onto five lines of musical staff like some kind of trippy Tetris.

Funny, but serious. Jazz, but pop. Quirky, but grounded. Alphabet Girls, Vol. II (the title isnโ€™t a red herring, the โ€œgirlsโ€ of Vol. I showed up twelve years ago) is all of these things and more.

But not.

โ€œMy goal was to make beautiful sounds,โ€ Slavens said.

Pacifico's new single, premiering today on New Noise, is sensitive and intense

TRACK PREMIERE

The new Pacifico single hits that soft spot I have for sensitive songwriting inside of intense rock production. It feels sort of "caged" to me, like it's trying to get out and the struggle is the sound. Does that make any sense? Well, it does to me! See? I'm a sensitive guy.

โ€œSuddenly / Back At The Start,โ€ out tomorrow, is taken from the โ€˜05/โ€˜22 EP (June 3, Pacifirecords). Both titles nod to the 17 years from start to finish for this project!

Visit New Noise to listen to the tune and read more about how that gap in time adds up.

KXT applauds MOTORCADE's sense of purpose on new LP See You In The Nothing

ALBUM PREVIEW

The men of MOTORCADE are the subject of this piece over at the Dallas NPR affiliate KXT, discussing the new album ๐˜š๐˜ฆ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ ๐˜๐˜ฏ ๐˜›๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜•๐˜ฐ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ out this Friday from Idol Records. The band will play an in-store at the perennially awesome Good Records on Sat., April 23.

Check it: โ€œThe sense that MOTORCADE knows precisely what it wants to achieve, and knows precisely how to achieve it is evident throughout the 11 tracks on ๐˜•๐˜ฐ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ, spilling from the ominous beauty of the opening track โ€˜Shiftโ€™ through to break-out single โ€˜Slip,โ€™ which aches with reverence for vintage 1980s New Wave and Gothic-tinged pop.โ€

No shit. โ€œSlipโ€ is my Cure, Echo, Siouxsie-laced jam. Click for your life, black-hearted ones!

When Mike listened to my rough demo, he heard it as a full-on rock song."
