Pacifico's new single, premiering today on New Noise, is sensitive and intense
TRACK PREMIERE
The new Pacifico single hits that soft spot I have for sensitive songwriting inside of intense rock production. It feels sort of "caged" to me, like it's trying to get out and the struggle is the sound. Does that make any sense? Well, it does to me! See? I'm a sensitive guy.
โSuddenly / Back At The Start,โ out tomorrow, is taken from the โ05/โ22 EP (June 3, Pacifirecords). Both titles nod to the 17 years from start to finish for this project!
Visit New Noise to listen to the tune and read more about how that gap in time adds up.

Check it: โThe sense that MOTORCADE knows precisely what it wants to achieve, and knows precisely how to achieve it is evident throughout the 11 tracks on ๐๐ฐ๐ต๐ฉ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ, spilling from the ominous beauty of the opening track โShiftโ through to break-out single โSlip,โ which aches with reverence for vintage 1980s New Wave and Gothic-tinged pop.โ
No shit. โSlipโ is my Cure, Echo, Siouxsie-laced jam. Click for your life, black-hearted ones!

The peeps over at Ghettoblaster Magazine are presenting this one today, thank you! Jared explains, "Writing sad songs about loneliness comes naturally to me and this song was an idea that would check that box. When Mike listened to my rough demo, he heard it as a full-on rock song."

Pacifico's Matthew Schwartz took 17 years to make his upcoming EP; โโ05/โ22โ arrives June 3
NEWS
17 years is a long time to make an EP.
Pacificoโs upcoming โโ05/โ22โ EP โ the title being a literal nod to the how it started / how itโs going nature of the record โarrives June 3, 2022 on the Atlanta-based artistโs own Pacifirecords.
What was the artist-in-charge, Matthew Schwartz doing during the 17 years since beginning this Pacifico release in 2005 and completing it in 2022?
He was doing Pacifico.
Huh?
Indeed, this is the story of a lost hard drive. Musicians donโt do back-ups, after all.

As a practitioner of Transcendental Meditation, I was particularly excited for this episode of Ranking The Beatles featuring Elroy (also of Crowded House and Wild Nothing) discussing "Sexy Sadie," which even the casual fan of The Beatles knows is about the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
