Blesson Roy continues the trip towards the release of Think Like Spring on Nov. 27th, with more trippiness! There's a pattern here, and the video for the latest single "Stays With You" follows it. Du Jour recently caught up with the multifaceted Mandy Moore, who appears in Mike Viola’s new video for “Drug Rug.” Viola and Moore have been working together since 2009, most recently on her LP Silver Landings.
According to Moore, “He’s a genius and the video (directed by my sis, Caitlin Gerard) is hilarious and so dang good.”

The site calls it “intricately-arranged pop” and says “the song features a distant, delicately-picked guitar riff at its opening and Borden’s vocals low in the mix, recalling his biggest influences like Creation Records, 4AD, and Rough Trade.”
Think Like Spring is coming at the end of November from Slow Start Records.
Treble Zine has shared the “hazy yet lo-fi” clip for “Bungleweed Motherwort” by Figg, which it calls a “lovely, stripped-down dream folk tune.” The video was produced by the band’s Gilden Tunador and edited by Hector Gallardo of Subharmonic City.
According to Tunador, “the video’s visuals are a nod to My Bloody Valentine’s Loveless album cover…”
Mike Viola - you probably know his voice from That Thing You Do, Walk Hard, or his band The Candy Butchers; or, perhaps you’ve heard his production on Mandy Moore’s Silver Landings - has a new LP, Godmuffin, due later this year. Evan Toth of WFDU recently interviewed Mike for The Vinyl District’s Radar podcast, finding that “2020 may have been one of the weirdest years that most of us have experienced in our lifetime, but it’s been musically fruitful for Viola.”

Thanks to American Songwriter for not only premiering the new Christopher The Conquered non-album track “Paper Man” but for sharing it with such stunning praise. According to the site, it’s “an opus, reminiscent of the soulful cabaret of Anohni (Antony and the Johnsons) and the operatic range of Freddie Mercury (or perhaps more accurately, Hedwig) merged with a piano bar pianist who just had his heart handed to him on a platter."
Austin-based brother/sister duo Charlie Belle have bee praised by NPR, The Austin Chronicle, NYLON, Noisey, and more. Now, Glide Mag has the video for their new song “Looking For Magic.“
Glide writes, “With a feisty and funky guitar line, the song captures the duo’s penchant for writing radio-friendly songs that still feel rooted in indie rock. There is a smoothness to the song that is conveyed both in the laid back groove and in Jendayi’s effortlessly cool vocals that linger in your mind long after listening.
