Dallas-based music discovery website Central Track has picked "Call For Cull" by Margaret Chavez as one of its songs of the week today. The track is the first single from the upcoming solo debut by Marcus William Striplin, best-known as the co-founder and vocalist of the Dallas band Pleasant Grove. "A Loupe," produced by Erik Wofford (Explosions In The Sky, The Black Angels) arrives on Jan. 19th, 2018 via Goliad Media Group.

Marcus William Striplin of Dallas-based band Pleasant Grove has announced the release of his first solo album. "A Loupe" (Goliad Media, Jan. 19th) arrives under the name Margaret Chavez, a tribute to Striplin's mother, and is a 32-minute, continuous ten-song cycle that highlights the writing and vocals that the Dallas Observer previously described as “songs of broken hearts and broken voices,” and the UK's UNCUT dubbed a “mark of excellence in modern Americana.”
