SONG PREMIERE

Tonight at his free Love Song Bar show in downtown LA, Gregory Ackerman may play his new song, a good song, that is actually titled "Good Song," which is out tomorrow, and can be heard right now!

It’s been posted thousands of miles away by the lovely Folk Radio UK, which calls it “an infectious laid-back hazy number, lyrically sincere and couched in more than a little ray of that west coast sunshine." 𝘚𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘞𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭, the album from whence this good song has been culled, is out September 17.

Gregory Ackerman pours his heart out to American Songwriter with the premiere of "Losing Sense," featuring Illuminati Hotties

SONG PREMIERE

Gregory Ackerman recently poured his heart out to American Songwriter about a crash-and-burn fling that resulted in "Losing Sense," a non-album B-side (feat. Sarah Tudzin of Illuminati Hotties) that will be released with Ackerman’s new single "Good Song" this Friday, confessing that he “wrote it after the abrupt end to an abrupt start of a beautiful thing with a beautiful neighbor.”

Damn! Show Greg some sympathy and give a click to check out this diary of a ditty. Full LP 𝘚𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘞𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 is out September 17.

Glide shares Gregory Ackerman's video for the "strangely relatable" track "Full Grown"

VIDEO PREMIERE

I promoted a video back in the day in which the artist just kind of wandered around, and I've always loved it. Sometimes something simple like that just works, and so it goes — as depicted in the mini-golf playing, dog-walking video for "Full Grown" by Gregory Ackerman. Glide comments: “The song carries a sense of nostalgia that is only amplified by Ackerman’s deep and hushed vocal harmonies and slowly strummed guitar. There is something strangely relatable and pleasing about this lush yet simple indie folk tune."

Greg's fine new album Still Waiting Still is out September 17.

Chris J. Norwood faces down suicide and gun culture on his new single, premiering today via The Bluegrass Situation

SONG PREMIERE

Honored to play a small part in helping Chris J. Norwood bring light to an important issue through his new song "Good Guy With A Gun," out this Friday via State Fair Records. Hear it today at The Bluegrass Situation.

Norwood says, “I’d already written several songs about my father’s suicide… but… losing a parent at a young age is always going to be a part of me. It’s part of my story. It’s tangled all in my roots. Truth be told, we as a country need to talk more openly about suicide. Especially as it relates to the gun debate and gun culture."

Feel the dark vibes with God of Love's new video, premiering today via Spill

VIDEO PREMIERE

The video for "Take You Seriously" by God of Love has got some dark vibes. Thanks to Spill Magazine for the premiere! According to James Burnett, “I always imagine God Of Love arrives where he is going with purpose and intensity and this video represents not only that deliberate preparation but also the sort of insanity it takes to make music and to perform. So there is a sort of romantic madness involved…”

Let Elroy "set the mood" with his "sultry" new video, premiering today on Glide Mag

VIDEO PREMIERE

Elroy’s “Excite Me Much,” writes Glide Magazine, “is a quiet and meditative morsel of indie pop [on which] Elroy is accompanied by minimal instrumentation beyond a drum machine and orchestra synths.” Glide has the premiere of the “darkly infectious” tune’s video.

Abbreviations go "deeper than most dream pop songs" in the clip for "Turn On You," available now via The Big Takeover

VIDEO PREMIERE

"Turn On You,”  the first single by Abbreviations, now has a video that similarly channels the laid-back feel of the song. Thanks out to Jen Dan at Big Takeover for scooping this up. She says, “The song is deeper than most dream pop songs will go, typically awash in too much gauzy sonics to be this lucid. The number radiates an understated power... all coming together to leave you wanting more." Indeed!

Out now on Red Zeppelin Records.

Stereo Embers premieres "Take You Seriously," the new single from God of Love and “one of the catchiest songs of the summer.”

PREMIERE

“Take You Seriously,” the new single from God of Love, is today’s Track of The Day at Stereo Embers as well as “one of the catchiest songs of the summer.” Link in bio.

Alex Green always manages to speak about my artists in a way that helps me understand them better. He calls this song “a delicious blend of swirling new wave and dreamy pop... backed by an infectious synth groove... [with] vocals summoning Wayne Hussey of The Mission UK and Sisters Of Mercy’s Andrew Eldritch. Filled with a dark and twitchy backbeat that builds to a fuzzy crescendo, 'Take You Seriously' rocks with an undeniably earnest swagger." Thanks for the coverage and the insight, friend!

Hear it everywhere this Friday via Red Zeppelin Records.

In his newest single, live now on Americana UK, Chris J. Norwood implores you to quit breaking his heart

SONG PREMIERE

Americana UK is live now with the premiere of Chris J. Norwood’s “I Need You (To Quit Breaking My Heart),” a duet with Carrie Norwood that has one of my fave song titles of the year.

The site praises the track’s “great lyrical hooks – who could resist listening on after hearing ‘I hope this letter finds you well but I need some time to myself… PS: here are my regrets’? Having reeled you in, the Dallas based singer-songwriter makes the stay more than worth the while.” Look for this one on the upcoming LP I Am Not Cool, out August 20 from State Fair Records.

Last Day Deaf premieres Gregory Ackerman's new "indie folk gem," from upcoming LP Still Waiting Still

PREMIERE

Everything I've been feeling about these new Gregory Ackerman tunes is perfectly summed by Christos at Last Day Deaf:: "What we admire most about ‘Full Grown‘ is the artist’s intimate vocal performance, which is genuinely combined with the best possible string arrangement to unleash the most of this indie folk gem, and that ‘invisible’, soft veil of melancholy which is pervasive throughout the song. In just over 3 minutes, Ackerman is more than a dab hand to deliver a phenomenal wave of emotions full of lush harmonies and poignant lyrics, a perfect precursor off his upcoming full-length album Still Waiting Still, out in September."

V13 premieres The Enigmatic Foe's new A-side, while Ghettoblaster has the B-sides

SONG PREMIERES

V13 has the premiere of “The Suffering Art,” the newest single from The Enigmatic Foe’s expansive upcoming album The Original Plan. The site compares band mastermind Jared Colinger to Squeeze, Depeche Mode, and The Smiths, contending that the song “capably and intelligently tows that thin line between melancholy and upbeat jangly pop.”

Colinger is also pinning two non-album tracks to each single release from the record. Ghettoblaster was kind enough to post the bonus tracks included with “Suffering Art:” "Let's Be Sad" and "Crisis (Home Demo).” Check that out here.

The Original Plan is slated for a July 30 release.

Treble Zine shares J Hacha de Zola's latest delightful noir hallucination

VIDEO PREMIERE

We’re only a day way from the release of J Hacha de Zola’s East of Eden! Today Treble Zine is on the case with the music video for "Lost Space,” comparing it to work by Tom Waits and Lee Hazelwood and calling it "a delightful noir hallucination.” That also generally describes the entirety of my human existence, so I am relating to this!
