Co-founder, vocalist of Dallas indie-rock heroes Pleasant Grove to release solo debut

Marcus William Striplin of Dallas-based band Pleasant Grove has announced the release of his first solo album. "A Loupe" (Goliad Media, Jan. 19th) arrives under the name Margaret Chavez, a tribute to Striplin's mother, and is a 32-minute, continuous ten-song cycle that highlights the writing and vocals that the Dallas Observer previously described as “songs of broken hearts and broken voices,” and the UK's UNCUT dubbed a “mark of excellence in modern Americana.”
