Bio (Continued):

The three core members of Glimr are Michael Temkin (guitar, voice), Chirs (guitar, keyboard), and Ankle The Mimic (bass) along with an assortment of drummers including Brian Moeckly (drums on "Big Sky" and "Big Night"), Brian King (drums on "The Hatter") and Jake Wood (drums on everything else).

Faith of Our Fathers is Glimr's third release over ten years on the 10GeV Records label. 10Gev was founded in 1994 by a group of scientists and has amassed 18 releases to date which have been written about in magazines such as Rolling Stone and Alternative Press. Also scientists, Glimr member Temkin dropped out of a Ph.D. program in particle physics at Harvard to pursue music while Chirs and Moeckly completed Ph.D.s in physics at Cornell (particle physics and solid state physics, respectively.)

Some more interesting facts about Glimer and Faith of Our Fathers:

  • All of the tracks on the album were recorded at two different collision regions of a 1.5 mile long particle accelerator that studies differences between matter and anti-matter.
  • In the spirit of BB King's "Lucille" and Clapton's "Blackie", Chirs dubbed his Gibson SG "Lardass", and carved the name into it with a paring knife.
  • The live track "I Know His Blood Will Make Me Whole" was recorded after Temkin partook of some bourbon from Ankle The Mimic's prosthetic leg, on a dare.

Press Quotes:

"The guitar solos absolutely sing. Not that they have to because the lyrics are beautifully sung, taking their time, wrapped around the excellent instrumentation." - Lucid Forge Magazine

"...Wraps itself around a descending pole of post-rock psych sludge that enlivens itself with hints to Magic Band atonal desert blues. It is a mesmerizing piece." - Vanity Project Fanzine

"The guitar proceeds to scream and flail like a dancing electric cobra." - Louisville Music News
