Bio: GiTAr grew up during the cold war, post genocide, post slavery, post Vietnam, USA. In this climate of arrogance, ignorance and inter-cultural conflict, the Media became the loudest voice on the planet. Television, movies, radio, theater, newspapers, magazines, books, records, CDs, billboards, followed by the internet, gave rise to a gruesome and unimaginably vast ocean of violently conflicting information, ideas and communications. Bio (Continued): GiTAr's Ellipse Elkshow and I Cut People were raised in Evansville, Indiana, the epicenter of post Industrial post WWII Factoryville, USA. The town was home to major polluters, factories, cancer statistics, pharmaceutical manufacturing and was also a test town for new products cooked up by various fast food giants. Eventually they both left the death trap and moved to the West Coast, where they began collaborating on an endless barrage of visual, sonic and improvisational projects.
One dark day in 2006 something snapped, the two childhood friends, Ellipse Elkshow and I Cut People, put powdered sugar on their noses, grabbed a guitar and decided to begin the most important balls-out sonic and visual assault that Civilization has ever freaking encountered; Under the guise of GiTAr, no less.
Guitar, with the "U" (you) extracted, was chosen to represent the cultural climate into which the duo was born. No other instrument could depict this phallic, patriarchal, self-revolving and bellicose culture than the overly fetishized, often masturbatory, GiTAr.
The sound of GiTAr became a solid mix of culturally-loaded vomit lifted from the media, obsessively cut and reordered into beautiful little gems of macabre shit steak. And not just any bloody shit steak, this is feedlot steak that's been sitting in a dumpster for two weeks and has fostered the growth of eight different fungal species a few billion bacteria and propagated twenty five thousand larval flies.
The craftsmanship you'll come to expect from GiTAr, which is of the highest caliber you've ever smelled, was honed from well over a decade of musical improvisation, noise-worship, performances and visual art making.
There is love and hate encapsulated in their work, as well as social satire and an astute condensation of the brutal irony of our social, political and physical existence. You think you've heard it all.
Well, you're wrong. Seriously wrong. Their album, "STUFFED," may be the last CD ever manufactured. It definitely contains some of the last bits of relevant news.
To be smarter than the Experts, hipper than the Hippest Hipster, fantastically famous, rolling in money and undeniably sextractive, obviously, you'll need this album. "STUFFED," by GiTAr; It comes in a compact disc, With FREE face-eating, mind-blowing artwork by GiTAr.
Scheduled for release on June 8th, 2010 by Seeland Records, the label owned by legendary North American Rock n' Roll GODS, Negativland, "STUFFED" has the potential to make you more than you are without it.
